Projects: Rochdale Middle Managers Development Programme and the 'Management Cycle'.
Over the last 6 months I have been involved in two exciting and very different projects with Infrastruct. Jo Somerset and I began delivering the Middle Managers Development Programme at Rochdale Boroughwide Housing for the third year running (although this was the first time I had delivered it). This programme mixes workshops, action learning sets and service improvement projects, equipping the managers with the behaviours, tools and techniques to excel in their roles. I have really enjoyed working with the delegates on this programme. The delegates have all worked hard and are currently putting what they have learned into practice as they manage their projects. Working as a co-facilitator with Jo, I have been able to adapt and develop my own approach to facilitating others learning. I have also learnt a great deal from the delegates.
The other big project I have been involved in is the innovative “Management Cycle” project. This is a leadership development programme which draws on the combined efforts of Infrastruct, BikeRight and UCLAN. Jo asked me to support the team on the theoretical input and facilitation of the programme. The first module was delivered in May this year. I was able to step outside my usual facilitation style – taking a much more enquiry based approach to supporting others’ learning.
