Infrastruct
is working with local authority employees from the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual
and Transgender (LGBT) community to act as volunteer mentors and mentees.
The mentoring project provides an independent source of support for participants to assist them in realising their career and personal development goals. It also provides a unique opportunity to discuss LGBT and other equality and diversity issues in the workplace.
Mentors:
We are looking for mentors who work in a management role, at any level.
Mentees:
We are looking for mentees at any level who would like to have the benefit of a mentor in a senior position to them.
For further information about the project, please see Frequently Asked Questions. There will also be briefing sessions held about the project in five locations across West Yorkshire in January 2010.
See Infrastruct's Top 10 Tips for Creating a Gay-Friendly Organisation.
Due to the funding requirements for this pilot project, there are only a finite number of places available. Please do get in touch as soon as possible.
As this is a pilot project, if you are interested in taking part but are unable to do so for whatever reason, we would still like to hear from you to identify any potential barriers in participating. This information will be used to make recommendations for potential future projects.
